Painting is part physical, part intellectual and most importantly – intuitive.

These formal landscape paintings are based on an aesthetic awareness of nature’s elements. The horizon line separating earth and sky is a constant theme in all my works. Variations in colour and tone add a specific mood. I have strived to strike a balance between realism and abstraction.

This series of paintings are based on locations from which I drew inspiration – places like Kalgoorlie, the Pilbara, Marble Bar, the Nullarbor, the Broome coastline and the Swan River.

As a collection, they are my homage to Western Australia.
